Chain Lead with Padded Handle

This chain lead with padded handle allows you to walk pups that love chewing on their leads.

For silly pups still getting used to walking, this can be a good way to wait for them to outgrow this behaviour. Please see below for more tips and tricks on lead biting.

This Chain Lead comprises of a Metal, Nylon and PU Leather construction for durability, whilst providing extra comfort for the handler with the padded hand grip.

When choosing a chain lead for dogs, be mindful of the weight and thickness. If you have a puppy or smaller dog, opt for a lightweight chain lead (2.5mm).

Chain Dog lead

A great lead but for right now sadly I found the chain a little heavy for my 6 month old Jack Russel

I am sorry to hear this. I can see you ordered the 3.5mm one which would be too heavy for a Jack Russel, even if fully grown. Flick me an email if you'd like to get the 2.5mm one instead which should be fine for now and later.

The best lead

We were already on lead number 2 with our 7 month old puppy chewing through hers. I'm so glad I added this to my order. A solid lead that wont get destroyed and the handle is really comfortable to hold too!

Best lead

So pleased that I purchased this lead. My pup no longer bites the lead. We had been through 2 leads previously from chewing and they perished, so this one is a keeper.

Love to hear it - that's a lot safer. And hopefully pup will just outgrow the habit. :)

No more lead biting!

Who knew something so simple could be so effective? My puppy had bitten and chewed her way though several leads before this one. I thought a chain would be awkward but its light weight and has a comfy handle. Puppy shows no interest in biting this!

So glad you found our chain leads. I agree that especially the 2.5mm one isn't heavy at all and nice to hold onto. Also sweet that you could get it in purple. :)

Excellent lead

Comfy handle, great solid chain, perfect length, the dog can walk alongside me and also have some flexibility.

Perfect weight. I bought this for my little half Jack Russell who destroyed her first lead by chewing it to bits. I noticed once I switched to the chain lead, she stopped pulling as much on walks too, which was an added benefit. Not sure if this attributed to the heavier weight of the lead or if it’s because she’s no longer in puppyhood

Not available in pet stores ..

I couldn’t find a chain lead anywhere and was told to look online which I did and I’m really happy with what I got. And at a great price too! I would defo recommend this product for anyone looking for a chain lead

A great fix for our lead biter!

Our Huntaway puppy has chewed his way through 2 x retractable leads in 2mths so we decided to try a chain lead. It has instantly stopped him from chewing his lead and we now have a lead that will last! I also read your tips on a lead chewer and found them very helpful. We have figured the reason our puppy likes chewing his lead is that he likes to carry something in his mouth so a soft rope bone has now become his favorite 'walking toy!

Good quality and good price

Arrived quickly and I was surprised at how sturdy it was. I got the thicker diameter chain, and it is really thick. Either diameter would be good I think. I got mine for a Dobie puppy that bites his lead, and this has completely stopped that.

Good lead

Not near long enough but is a good lead. Need longer options.

Thanks for the feedback. We were happy to find one that's with 1.2m quite a bit longer than most chain leads, but I can see how 2m could be nice as well. You could buy a choke chain and a carabiner and use that to extend the length by the length of the choke chain. The only possible use case scenario for those nasty tools.

A quick fix for leash biters

This has been great for our puppy who was a chronic leash biter - she's not at all interested in carrying this one in her mouth! Good solid and comfortable handle too.
